TUBI

Office Lounge System for Pedrali

Redefine the office lounge area and the relevant objects needed to make it functional and pleasing, taking into consideration the cultural implication of a new generation of people that grew up in a connected world, live out of apps, and that least some of them don’t need a proper computer.

„Different depths and heights“

Tubi is a modular and costumizable seating system, where the main feature is a versatile frame structure. it is constructed by connecting round tubular elements to the main frame. This enables it to easily adapt to different situations in office lounge enviroments.

The modules must be easy to assemble and disassemble. We focus on sustainability in terms of durability, repairability and eventually aim for circulairity.

“modular and adjustable seating modules using different heights and depths to facilitate different social scenarios“

• base structure to mount elements on to • round/tubular backrest • usable from both sides • soft fabric material

To ensure that we have the right proportion and dimensions, after the sketching phase, we tested our dimension in 1:10 scale model to define the right proportion. Before we went to 1:1 model, we tested the dimension in a rough paper model to see the ergonomic of our sofa.

The configuration need to cover the four main scenarios in a office lounge. Waiting, Focus, Meeting and Teamwork are the esential scenarios. It consist multiple of some elements such as the main sofa, poufs, small working surface in different heights to provide more possibilities and to fulfill different styles of working. A partition screen which is also can be used as presentation board.

To assembly the seating we went for thread system to provide stability. Because the thread goes through the frame, we added small part to cover the thread for aesthetical and safety reason
